1 Corinthians 2:6-16 Study Guide

Ice-Breaker Question

What are some of your favorite teachers, speakers, authors, and publications?

Reflection Questions

  1. What sources do people most often look to for wisdom? How does the world’s wisdom fall short?
  2. What’s the difference between human wisdom and the wisdom of God? How can we know?
  3. Why do people often fail to see God’s purpose for them?
  4. Why is it that only those who have the Holy Spirit can truly understand the wisdom of God and discern “spiritual realities”?
  5. How should believers approach the Christian life and our view and interactions with those who don’t yet know Jesus in light of knowing that it’s only by the Holy Spirit that a person can perceive and receive the truth of the gospel?

Memory Verse

“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”—1 Corinthians 2:10–12 (NIV)

Prayer Guide

Ask the Lord for the wisdom to best serve Him and minister to those around you.

Pray today about the people around you and ask the Spirit to put opportunities in your path to witness to them and be used by Him to draw them to Jesus.

This Week

As you pray for opportunities to witness to people, be open and ready! Look out for those moments and be willing to share the gospel and show the love of Jesus to those around you.
