This past weekend, we took a break from “The Sermon that Changed the World” as Pastor Doug shared a special message in response to the tragic events that happened this past week at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. We were also joined by Columbine survivor, author, and speaker Crystal Miller, who spoke with Pastor Doug about her experiences 19 years ago and how the Lord changed her life in the wake of the Columbine shooting.

A TIME FOR PRAYER
What can we do in the wake of this terrible tragedy? In 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NASB), the apostle Paul tells us to “pray without ceasing.” Our hope is that you will join us in prayer through the following prayer points:

• For the families of the victims.
• For the students who lost friends and mentors.
• For the Christian students as they return to campus, standing for Christ.
• For the gospel to penetrate the hearts of students.
• For the counselors and pastors who will continue to minister and walk through this difficult season with those affected.
• For our schools all over South Florida.
• For the first responders who broke news to families and experienced the aftermath.
• For Marjory Stoneman Douglas Staff who lost friends and will need to lead the scared students.
• For the school boards, city and state officials, and federal government as they seek to find ways to protect students.
• Against evil and for the ever-coming return of Christ.
