21-Day Fast

From March 27–April 16, we’d like to invite you to discover the freedom and goodness of a relationship with Jesus through the practice of fasting. Why fast? For you, the goal of your fast could be the healing of a sick loved one, praying for someone’s salvation, or seeking freedom and spiritual breakthrough in an area of struggle. The vision could be guidance and direction from the Lord for a key decision or commitment. But the overall driving force of a fast should always be to grow closer to Jesus, to know Him more deeply, and to become more like Him! As a church, this season of 21 days of prayer and fasting has become a tradition leading up to Easter. It’s a journey where we go together! And as such, we encourage you to personally take this journey with friends, your family, your small group, or the people you serve with at church! Share what the Lord is showing you, pray together, encourage one another, and celebrate together what the Lord is going to do. As you seek God’s direction on how He would have you fast, please keep in mind that your fast can look like:
  • REFRAINING FROM FOOD
  • THE DANIEL FAST (eating only fruits and vegetables)
  • REFRAINING FROM DESSERTS (no coffee or sugar)
  • REFRAINING FROM video games, social media, television, or non-worship music
Keep in mind; however, that without replacing these things with time spent in prayer and God’s Word, all of this is really just meaningless. Let’s not sell this experience short by making that mistake! Instead, take the opportunity to skip that dinner, or bowl of ice cream, or that TV show, and go for a 30-minute walk and pray. Ask God to do a powerful work of preparation for the next 21 days and pray along with us for a vision that will spread and change your life, your family, this church, and our community forever. Below you’ll find a few resources to help you and your whole family engage in this awesome 21-day fasting journey.
